Welcome to Chronicles of EVE
Chronicles of EVE is dedicated to presenting high-quality, original fiction relating to EVE Online and DUST 514. All writers and works of fiction are welcome to be presented here, and we sincerely hope that you will contribute your player fan fiction.
The Universe of New Eden - of EVE - is what the players make it, and all players have a story to tell. Chronicles of EVE aspires to serve as a repository for - or at the very least, a link to - those apocryphal versions.
Many writers do not speak or write in English as their first language. If you fall into that category, assistance can be provided - should you so desire - in order to correct any grammatical, syntactical, or other technical deficiency that may exist in your stories; however the substance of your work will not be altered. The work will remain unchanged. Credit will always be given, showing you as the author. Our most sincere desire is that you, the player-writer, will contribute your works of fiction to be displayed here.
Categories of Fiction
There are many classifications of fiction, especially for shorter pieces and these may vary depending on the authority cited. Since EVE Online is a science fiction-based universe, this website bases its standards loosely upon those set by the Science Fiction Writers of America. However, since Chronicles of EVE also highlights smaller pieces precisely for their brevity, we will deviate slightly from the standards set by the SFWA.
The general categories are as follows:
- Nano Fiction: 500 words or less
- Micro Fiction: 501 to 1000 words
- Flash Fiction: 1001 to 5000 words
- Short Story: 5001 to 10,000 words
- Novelette: 10,001 to 20,000 words
- Novella: 20,001 to 50,000 words
- Novel: more than 50,000 words
- Compare with official SFWA standards
If you are interested in displaying your EVE Online fiction here on this website, would like to contribute in some other way, or even if you have a suggestion or comment, please feel free to contact Sanjorel Artabanus in-game, or send an e-mail message to Art at s.artabanus@gmail.com.
Thank you and please enjoy your visit.
